What is oZev electric vehicle homecharge scheme
The government OZEV (Office for Zero Emission Vehicles) scheme provides funding towards the cost of installing electric vehicle charge points. This initiative seeks to increase the number of available chargepoints and in turn the wider use of electric and hybrid vehicles in the UK.
OZEV covers several aspects from home charge to workplace charge, chargepoint authorisation, on-street residential charge point scheme and the Ultra Low Emissions Taxi Infrastructure Scheme.


Am I Eligible for the OZEV home charging point grant?
If you own (including leasehold) a flat or apartment or live in rental accommodation, you will need to meet the below criteria to be eligible for the OZEV EV Chargepoint Grant:
- EV charger installed by an OZEV approved contractor.
- OZEV approved chargepoint installed.
- Dedicated off street parking.
- Own, lease or have ordered a qualifying vehicle.
- Only one application per person.
- If eligible, save up to £350 off the installation cost.

Does my Vehicle Qualify for OZEV Grants?
Most plug-in vehicles qualify for the OZEV grant. However, plug-in hybrid vehicles are only eligible for the grant when calculated at 50g/km. Follow the government’s list of Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme eligible vehicles for more information.

How do i claim the grant?
Apartment/flat owners and people living in rental accommodation, we will do it for you. During the online survey process you will be asked to complete some basic questions to ensure qualification. If you qualify, we will deduct the grant from your home charger installation.

What if I already have a charging point?
What is OZEV?
OZEV is the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles. This body is responsible for electric charge point grants such as the Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme (EVHS) and the Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS).
Is my car OZEV approved?
Most electric vehicles and hybrid vehicles (that produce 50g/km) are eligible for the OZEV grant. For a complete list please consult the government’s vehicle eligibility page.
Can homeowners still apply for an OZEV grant?
Homeowners (including people with mortgages) who live in single-unit properties such as bungalows and detached, semi-detached or terraced housing can still apply for a grant. However, all chargepoint installations will need to be completed by 31st March 2022.
